Director of Marketing and PR, HiveWatch
Ryan Schonfeld is the Founder & CEO of HiveWatch, a security technology company reimagining how companies keep their people and assets safe. Ryan began his career as a police officer and investigator, and later became an instructor for the U.S. Department of State's Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program. Ryan has worked as a leader in a Fortune 500 company’s Global Security & Safety Technology Group, where he decided that he was done with the phrase, “because that’s the way it’s always been done.” Instead, he aimed to address inefficiencies that stemmed from disparate systems and antiquated practices. He started RAS Consulting & Investigations, where he was able to walk clients through planning, education, and management of risk and liability, creating best-in-class, technology-forward security programs for rapidly growing organizations. Through these services he found that there was a need for scalable security, which some companies didn’t have the knowledge or human capital to create. From there sprung the idea of RAS Watch (now HiveWatch’s vGSOC), a global security operation center (GSOC) as a service. He founded HiveWatch after he watched the pandemic change the workforce and made organizations rethink protection for their employees and assets. He sought to create a SaaS platform to make security leaders more aware, connected, proactive, and informed. Ryan holds a masters in Information Systems and Technology from George Washington University and a B.S. in Justice from American University with a minor in Information Systems and Technology.
Cybersecurity leaders have had it figured out for a while: building resilience is about adapting to threats, adversities, and challenges so a business can continue to meet market demand and stakeholder expectations. Physical security, while a critical piece of the puzzle for businesses with a large physical footprint, has been playing catchup over the years and is finally turning a corner toward building a more resilient presence using cybersecurity principles.
The panel will answer/discuss the following:
How can physical and cyber leaders collaborate to manage risk to an organization?
What are some of the techniques and best practices that cyber pros use (and vice versa) to ensure business continuity?
How can we mitigate against known (and unknown) risks together?
The complexities of physical and cyber security planning through the lens of cyber resiliency and its effect on your business.
